If you have a 9x5 or 8.5x4.5 pan, reducing the recipe should be a viable option. The steps will be the same. You'd need to reduce the base recipe here to about 2/3 of the original amount and it should be okay for either 8.5x4.5 or 9x5 loaf pan.
