I've found that no-longer-useable tooth brushes can be re-purposed for a new life as a tool for cleaning out various tight spots, including those places where one wire crosses another, or where the wires sink into the wood handle, of the dough whisk. You might find new tooth brushes are cheap enough that you don't need to wait for one to die in the bathroom.
