Wonderful article that evokes so many memories for me! When my father opened up his medical practice in Buffalo, NY in the late 1950’s, among his first patients was a family from Greece. The elderly matriarch of the family brought us the delicious Tsoureki every year at Easter time as did her daughter in later years. The flavor was unlike anything our Irish-American family had ever tasted and this bread became something that we looked forward to all year long!
