We like cinnamon rolls and I make them often. This past Winter I started experimenting with different fillings. One that we really like is to spread apple butter on the dough and then add a little sugar and a little cinnamon. Sometimes I add grated apple to the apple butter. I am sparing with the apple to reduce the moisture. The apple butter does leak a little, but not too much, and I bake the rolls on parchment to make it easy to clean up. We frost them with cream cheese frosting. A nice Fall / Winter treat.
