Great advice but I'm curious as to why you didn't also suggest to twist the pastry bag on top that makes it easier to hold and pipe on, which is how the example photos show, also suggesting and showing how to hold the pastry bag in one hand where it's flipped over onto your hand (as if it was the glass) and filling the bag.
