Thank you for this recipe, but it makes me lonely. My beloved Norwegian grandmother taught me to be the family baker. At Christmas, we cooked the lefsa over the wood fire in her backyard, standing in the chilly fog of central California. In the old family photos, with more than twenty people sitting around her table, all dressed up, I'm always the one covered in flour, face smudged with ashes, and grinning. They're all gone now, but my Mexican daughter-in-law and I make Lefsa-dillas, a quesadilla on lefsa has to be one of the best fusion dishes ever put together.
