I learned to bake sweet potato pies watching my dear grandmother. We called her mama as well. She didn’t follow a recipe either. It was just add some of this and a little bit of that! I rely on my nose and eyes. Does it look and smell right. Crazy but it works. I still don’t measure! Family and friends always expect me to make the pies. My pleasure to do so.
