My great-aunt and her husband lived in Racine for several years after their arrival following the genocide. Auntie, our grandfather's sister, was the only woman of her generation remaining to teach us to cook and appreciate the foods of our people. Katah was a huge favorite with homemade apricot preserves, served with cheese and olives. When they lost their older daughter in 1944 they moved to Fresno, CA, and we lost our connection with her "family" in Racine. Thank for the beautiful memories.❤
