Hi PJ, I live in Arizona and don't like turning on my oven to bake bread in the summer, so I've been using Zojirushi bread machines for many years. I have a very active sourdough starter (triples in about 4 hours). I have made the KAB Bread Machine Sourdough Bread recipe, and it's very tasty, but I wanted to try making bread with starter alone. This past summer I was re-reading my bread cookbooks and re-discovered "Worldwide Sourdoughs From Your Bread Machine" by Donna Rathmell German and Ed Wood. I used their instructions for programming my machine to make a loaf completely in it without commercial yeast and without turning on the oven. It works very well and you get a very nicely sized and shaped loaf without a soggy crust. This is a great option in Arizona when it's 110 degrees outside!
