I found the same error with the scaled-down pecan pie filling - there are no directions for when/where to add the melted butter. I did the same thing as the original poster and added the melted butter to the wet ingredients right before mixing with the dry ingredients - they're in the oven now, so don't know yet how they turned out. Super fun project.
