Hi from Cakeable Charlotte in Charlotte, NC! We are a 501(c)(3) organization which uses baking to promote inclusion and empower people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our students participate in baking projects which support other nonprofits in our area. They are gaining skills to bridge with employment gap for teens and adults with disabilities and contributing to the community in a purposeful way. We were founded in 2019, so we are facing the challenges of 2020 as a new organization, but we moved yesterday to a new space at Sweet Spot Kitchen in Charlotte. We're so excited to start baking again with students, making pumpkin snickerdoodles (yum) for Buddy Walk in October, and continuing our work with the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte, GiGi's Playhouse, and Cookies for Kids Cancer. We've been inspired by the stories featured in For Goodness Bakes, and thank you for supporting like-minded bakers who are infusing our communities with hope.
