Although what you state is correct, many recipes over time have been improved on. The "so called" pound cakes of now-a-days are a lot better than the store bought garbage they call pound cake. Even though they are not true to the original recipe, homemade uses better ingredients and taste wonderful (better than the old fashioned recipe). I want something that tastes great and is memorable in a good way. So if not politically correct who cares but thank you for a bit of trivia. Stay well and happy baking.
