Thank you for reminding us of the importance of baking. We have a neighbor who lost his son to suicide a year ago. Realizing how sad he’d been these past few days, I felt inadequate for words. Sunday morning I baked several loaves of sourdough bread & decided to bring one over to my neighbor. It was actually still steaming from the oven when I gave it to him wrapped in my oven mitts. He was so happy and I didn’t need to say anything - the gift of homemade bread said it all.
