Sorry, but this is completely unclear to me: "replace the baking powder with half the amount of baking soda.... If the recipe already calls for baking soda as well as baking powder, there’s no need to make any change save substituting the cocoa."
It's just confusing. For example, if the recipe calls for two teaspoons of baking powder, replace that with one teaspoon of baking soda? BUT - if that same recipe calls for two teaspoons of baking powder plus 1/2 tsp of baking soda, just use the soda?
