My go-to pizza is a whole wheat pizza crust, brushed with olive oil and sprinkled with dried Italian herbs, topped with caramelized pears, turkey sausage, Kalamata olives, and chopped sweet bell peppers, then sprinkled with Swiss or provolone cheese. Caramelized the pears beforehand: peel, core, and cut pears into slices and spread out on parchment covered baking sheet; sprinkle with brown sugar and bake at 375 for 25 minutes; turn over each pear wedge and let come to room temp. Then use on the pizza. Sweet and savory! We love it.
