I made this cake for the 4th but used Sonoma Syrup's recipe for a Vanilla Coconut Flag Cake with Cream Cheese frosting. Their recipe for the Cream Cheese frosting really took it over the top! Plus they suggested using the leftover frosting (1/4 of the batch) in a piping bag to pipe white frosting for the white stripes in between the rows of raspberries, and sprinkling unsweetened coconut on top. After doing that I didn't have enough frosting to pipe stars on the blueberries but it still looked great. It was a very tasty and impressive dessert!
