A friend gave me sourdough starter she said was ready, to keep in refrig until ready to use in a week. It’s been in an airtight plastic bag in refrig for 3 weeks. It looks fine but I read not to keep in airtight plastic. She said to stir and feed it at room temp. I have your brochure and it says to use unbleached all purpose flour, but mine also says self-rising. I bought a little box of your flour in grocery store, well both are. Is it ok to use? She also gave me a covered little jar of starter too, which has been sitting on counter. It’s gone from being 1/2 full to 3/4 full, and smelled a bit alcoholic, should I use it? I’d love to have gluten free and rye also and your crock & parchment and bake a crusty bread with holes. What should I order? Thanks very much !!
