Hi and thanks for so much info! My starter was great and I surprised myself with a few almost perfect loaves... Then I moved my starter to the fridge for less feedings. After 5 days, I brought it to room temp and fed it. It behaved normal but it smelled pastey. After several days of 2x per day feedings, it still smelled pastey... Not awful but not the original pleasent sour. I made bread that was ok and my guinea pigs (aka children) thought it was fine, but I couldn't get that strangeness out of my head. I tossed the starter and began a new batch. I'm afraid to put it in the fridge again. Have you heard or had a paste like smell and should I be concerned? Thank you!
