I read your delightful story. I have been therapy baking for over 70 years. For me baking is a multi sensory joy: smell, sight, touch - I especially like baking with yeast and detecting the change in the consistency of the dough as I knead it -, taste. But most of all it simply makes me happy to give others pleasure with something I made. And in addition, I like seeing evidence having accomplished something that day.
Yes, bake for happiness, I say.
