Molly, I have an old short bread tin in my kitchen. My mom had it in hers, it’s the large tin boxes that you get at Christmas and was long ago filled with walkers English shortbreads. My mom kept this in one of her kitchen cabinets and it was filled with spice packets and hand written recipes. Though I no longer keep her recipes there, I do keep spices and each time a reach for it I know my mom is cooking along side me. She’s been gone now 10 years. I loved your story.
