I really enjoyed reading this blog post about some of your mums and your memories of baking - or not - with them as you grew up.
At 94, my Mum doesn't bake any more but I still remember the wonderful treats she made when I was growing up, and the happy times I spent in the kitchen with her. The only thing I never learned despite her trying was how to replicate her delicious short pastry. Her apple and blackberry pies were out of this world. She must have been one of the first people in the UK to make a pavlova - it came from a little booklet of recipes sent to her from a friend in New Zealand. It's my favourite dessert to this day.
