Lovely!
Like Molly, my mom was not a baker. It's only in the last few years that I've become passionate about baking, largely due to King Arthur and some excellent baking classes here in Madison, WI (we have a certified Master Baker in town!).
Molly's story brought a tear to my eye. My mom will have been gone 25 years this July but this sounds like something she would have done. Though not a baker she was an excellent cook when it came to simple, delicious recipes. I still make so many of her soups and main courses, and wish I'd had the foresight to get more recipes from her when she was still here. Happy Mother's Day to all the great moms of the world, here and passed on.
