Hello! That is a bit unusual. It may have been the material of the cloth. A baker's linen, like the material used for a couche, has a very tight weave and a thick, almost velvety texture. So experiment with different cloth or just using baker's linen may give you better results, as it's ideal to not lose that moisture.
