I have used a Le Creuset large soup pot that I have had for 40 years. I preheated it in the oven. No problem. I baked bread in it. No problem with the pot. I did use parchment paper in the pot. My loaf came out too flat! First, I am new to sourdough bread baking. I think that this semi failure is due to my lack of skill rather than the pot which can withstand a lot of heat. While I am somewhat discouraged, I do not think it is the fault of the pot. I have several Le Creuset cooking pots. They all withstood a lot of heat for more than 40 years.
