I had been having the same sticking problem, and had gotten frustrated. But I recently watched a K.A. video of crumpet making, and saw that is crucial to preheat your griddle (low heat) with the rings on the heated griddle before you grease them. So heat your griddle & rings, make your batter, then immediately spray your griddle & rings with Pam, then pour in the batter. Perfect crumpets that release with no effort. Ok, maybe a tip of a sharp knife here or there. I was thrilled the first time this worked. Am now a convert to this technique.
