l used the normal sized ball rings (not wide mouthed) on my first try. They came out great, only need about 2-3 minutes on the first side and 1-2 after turning them over. Also 1/8 cup was perfect amount of batter and put the lipped side of the ring down first, it makes it easier to remove them on the flip. Downside is they are too small to split and put in the toaster.
