I started a jar of yeast water with an organic fuji apple last week with some sugar. It didn't have a lot of activities in the first three days, but on day four, all of a sudden, had a lot of bubbles/foam at the surface of the water. Yesterday, I started another 32-oz jar of yeast water with two Meyer lemons (A friend has a Meyer lemon tree and gave me a bag of her Meyer lemons). I decided to experiment and see how it'll turn out if I don't add any sugar to it, and let yeast simply feed on the sugar in the lemons. Will report back in a few days. :-)
