Dollor, In 1973 I was given some sourdough starter that had been kept and shared for 70+ years and I've kept it and shared it since then. I call it my antique sourdough. So, so easy. It keeps for many months in the back of my fridge with no attention at all. Replenish merely by adding some flour and water and let sit at room temp for a day or two. Makes wonderful bread and waffles.
