Hi, Bill! This recipe calls for both commercial yeast and sourdough, and will be made as written that way. We do not have a form of this recipe written for baking without sourdough, but we do have other lovely fruit and nut bread recipes, such as our No-Knead Harvest Bread recipe. Feel free to substitute figs into that recipe if you like!
