Erythritol IS a sugar alcohol and newer studies are saying that it may not be as good as originally thought. Also, those of us with very sensitive digestive systems can have a negative effect. Most of it is now artificially made, not from ‘fruits’. Stevia is awful. Monk fruit is tasty. As a diabetic that loves to bake it is basically impossible to find and store bought sweetener without erythritol. I haz a sad. :(
