The mashed potatoes are a traditional ingredient in this recipe, and we haven't made this recipe without them, so if you wanted to make a roll recipe that isn't based around mashed potatoes, skip the experiment, and instead use one calling for potato flour, you could make Golden Pull-Apart Butter Buns.
