Hi, Edward! This recipe calls for fully cooked mashed potatoes, which can either be made from whole potatoes at home, or using an unseasoned box mix. If you're looking for a recipe that can be made with potato flakes that have not been reconstituted and are just straight from the box, our Golden Pull-Apart Butter Buns recipe would be an excellent choice.
