Ah, ha! We found the culprit of your troubles, Mie. It's important to use a full 4-lb bag of sugar during the toasting process. If you use a smaller volume, the sugar will heat up quickly, reach a higher temp, and ultimately melt. If you're open to trying it again, embrace your sugar toasting fears and use a whole bag of sugar! It's usually only a few dollars at the grocery store and it is so worth the effort. Good luck!
