Thank you for the idea. This is a recipe game changer for holiday cookies. It was so easy to make. I made 4lbs at once doing a whole bag of sugar. I double parchment lined my glass casserole dish. I started the sugar for one hour at 300 degrees Fahrenheit making sure to stir it every 30 minutes. Then I kicked the heat up to 325 degrees Fahrenheit for another hour. Stiring every 20 to 15 minutes. Then I lowered the temperature back to 300 degrees Fahrenheit because it was starting to toast a little quickly and was already a beautiful golden color. I left it in for another 30 minutes stirring every 10 minutes. Finally it was finished and so beautiful toasted. Only took me 2 and a half hours and it is a beautiful golden color about the same as the darkest color you showed and has a wonderful carmelized flavor. I can't wait to bake with it. And I will definitely be making this again.
