Wanted to share my “cheat” on what I do to put a layer of filling in a sheet cake. I cut the cake in half in the pan and take out one half at a time with my giant spatula. I split those layers, put the bottom layers back in and add the filling. Then put the two top layer half’s back in on top and ice. Easier than trying to get the whole cake out and maneuver it without breaking and no one ever knows because you frost over the split. I think it really gives your sheet cake some extra pizazz to have some filling. I like to mix some jam or curd with my buttercream to use as the filling. Raspberry or lemon is great! Loved this post. Learned a few new tricks. Thank You!
