Hi Terri, thanks for reaching out! If you're going south by land, you should be in great shape to bring your starter with you! Since all a starter needs to eat is flour and water (and water is available everywhere), you'll just want to bring along a container of flour, a small spatula for stirring, and a measuring cup or scale. If you're traveling by air, a starter will likely run into some issues as a liquid ingredient. While it may feel silly to pull out your starter in a hotel room on your way out and back, there are plenty of folks who travel with small pets or houseplants, and it's really no more trouble than either of those.
