Hi Lola, it is possible that your dough could be searching for some additional water, either because the flour that was used had a higher protein content than the one called for in the recipe so it absorbed more moisture, or because there was extra flour accidentally added to the dough, either during measuring (if the flour was measured by volume because it was packed into the measuring cup) or during kneading (using lots of flour on the counter to keep it from sticking.)
