Hi there! If you'll be blind baking your crust, you can use the tips from our How to blind bake pie crust blog article with just a few adjustments. This puff will shrink a bit while baking so you want to use a piece of dough that is a bit bigger than your pie plate to account for that. Also because this dough will puff up you want to dock the dough with a fork and definitely use pie weights or baking beans to prevent the bottom from rising too much. For your buttermilk pie, we'd recommend allowing your par-baked crust to cool for a little while before adding the filling so that the filling doesn't curdle when you pour it into the crust.
