Hi Charlotte, great idea! Using a vanilla flavored vodka would boost the vanilla flavor in your extract considerably. Still, if you want the origin and distinguished flavor of a particular vanilla bean to shine through it may be best to use a neutral flavored vodka to get a more nuanced but less potent vanilla flavor.
