Hi Leslie, that's a great question! While I haven’t tried using grain alcohol to make homemade vanilla extract, I did some research and it sounds like some bakers like to use grain alcohol to make their extract. Most people who choose this ingredient dilute the grain alcohol with water before using to ensure the alcohol content isn’t too high.
