I started using frozen butter for biscuits and it's crazy simple. Freeze the sticks in their wrappers. When it's time to cut in the cold butter, simply take the frozen stick to a box grater. I actually have one of those old salad shooters...it's perfect! Lightly toss the shredded frozen butter with the dry ingredients then stir in the buttermilk. I don't even use shortening anymore. The biscuits rise up super high, they're crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside. My hubs loves them!
