I was making cornbread in a cast iron pan when the doorbell rang. I welcomed my early guests then put the pan in the oven. But apparently I forgot the step where you mix all the ingredients. When we cut into the flatter than usual cornbread, we found a layer of eggs
- not beaten, not incorporated into the batter. Just there. (They looked like fried eggs.)
