The one that got my family laughing the most was Thanksgiving of 1975. I was having the whole family-in-law over as Mother-In-Law had had a medical issue and could not do the big meal. Turkey was roasting just fine in the electric roaster, and I put a dutch oven full of sage dressing in the oven to bake. After an hour and a half I checked on the progress of the dressing. The dressing had risen, raised the lid of the Dutch oven, and pressed it against the roof of the oven! Had to yell at hubby to help pull the hot Dutch oven out of the oven, scoop out some of the dressing into another smaller Dutch oven, and finish baking both containers of dressing. Note to self, a sage dressing with eggs, turkey juice and bread will need some room to create steam!
