Oh my ... so familiar and so funny! But imagine what the failures feel like for people who don’t cook much, who don’t maybe have the knowledge or experience to sleuth out what went wrong. I’m reminded of my home ec teacher mom who insisted on a cake mix for a young person’s first cake-baking experiences. She wanted that cake to look and taste good -- and for the kid to be super proud of the results and to be able to reproduce them at home. It worked on ME, anyway.
