I'm in South Australia where it's winter now (12C max today). I put my well-wrapped dough to bed with the electric blanket set to low. Works like a charm. Even on a wintry day, if there's a bit of sun, then a car parked outside gets quite cosy. I wrap my covered bowl of dough and put it on the passenger seat (Stan, my sourdough starter, doesn't have a licence to drive!). btw For years I've been collecting shower caps from hotels I've stayed in to cover my rising dough. I thought this was my invention! Glad to see others use the same trick. Better than wasting all that clingfilm. I also use a silicone cover; seals well - wash and reuse a zillion times.
