Hi Emma! You have a couple of options here, you could bake all the batter in one 9" x 13" pan or you could bake the cake one layer at a time. If you go with the second option, you can bake one layer, let it cool slightly, and turn it out of the pan, then refill the pan with the remaining batter. We would not recommend baking all the batter in one 8" or 9" pan though as it'll overflow, making quite a mess. Be well and happy baking!
