Hi Patty! Using cake flour could potentially make the cake a little too weak to hold up the frosting, so it's possible it could sink down a bit and have a denser texture. If you'd like to use cake flour, we'd recommend using it for up to half of the flour. Happy baking! Annabelle@KAF
