Hi Tosa! The frosting does indeed come to the rescue and evens out the width of the whole cake by filling it in the center. It doesn't wind up being much thicker than the rest, and when you cut a slice, the frosting tends to squish around a tiny bit anyway — with any cake. Annabelle@KAF
