Hi PJC! Getting sprinkles onto the side of the cake is easiest if you have your cake on a cardboard round or something else that's about the same width as the cake. You can hold it in the palm of your hand and gently pour sprinkles onto the sides with your other hand as you rotate it around to get all of the sides. Be sure to do it over the trash or a pan to catch any extra sprinkles that fall, they aren't the most fun thing to clean up! Annabelle@KAF
