Love reading your blogs! This one reminded me of an epic fail making candy several years ago. I was making peanut brittle via the microwave. I had a large Pyrex bowl, and after taking it out of the microwave, it fell on our hardwood floor and shattered. Hot syrup and glass everywhere --- and it immediately bonded to the floor with shards of glass glued and hardened to the wood. It looked like a modern art installation. Took lots of applying hot, steamy water to loosen the sugar and glass concoction bit by awful bit. I'll support our local candy store by buying their peanut brittle instead! Happy holidays!
